Spring Clean Eating - 6 Week Challenge

The days are getting longer and the weather is getting warmer, which can only mean one thing. Spring has sprung! With the change of seasons comes a little something called "Spring Fever." This non-medical condition describes the distraction, restlessness, and excitement that we feel at the start of spring. Can you relate?? It’s the perfect springboard to organize and clean everything from the bottom baseboard to the top shelves you can’t reach (or maybe that’s just me). And with summer right around the corner, it’s simultaneously the perfect time to get a bit more intentional about how we're fueling our bodies.

There are two types of people in the world. Some people LOVE to clean and organize. You know who you are. Others will do anything and everything to avoid it. Whatever camp you fall into, I guarantee that the time and effort spent cleaning is worth it. If the term “spring cleaning” feels daunting, then keep reading. I’ll break it down for you into bite-size chunks.

"Spring Clean Eating" has entered the chat. This six-week challenge can start whenever you want it to, but the sooner the better! Each week is broken down into daily cleaning/organizing tasks. If you're the type of person who wants to tackle the full room in one day, this is for you! But if you're the type of person who likes to conquer one task at a time and complete small, daily tasks - this is also for you!

While we’re at it... why not clean up our diet a little too? The term "clean eating" can be defined in several different ways depending on who you ask. Don’t worry about finding "the one" perfect definition. Rather, I want you to find the one that works for you. Here are a few suggestions:

  • No added sugars

  • Remove alcohol

  • Focus on eating foods that aren't packaged/processed.

  • Take daily vitamins and/or supplements

  • Hit a specific water goal/day

  • Eat protein at every meal

Take a few minutes to jot down a few ideas and then decide on what clean eating means to you. Next, you're going to set a goal and choose how many days you want to "eat clean" in the next 6 weeks. I’d encourage you to aim for at least 50% (21 days).

Ready to spring into action?? Make a copy of this document, write down what "clean eating" means to you on it, and set a goal for how many days you will commit to it in the next 6 weeks. Good luck!
